SHINING

Formed in 1996 by Swedish-born multi-instrumentalist and composer Niklas Kvarforth, SHINING quickly gained a devoted and loyal fanbase, and a cesspool of inferior imitators as well, all while the sole remaining original member would go on and introduce the world to a sightly darker and more oppressive version of what Black Metal had turned into by the end of the nineties.

A band musically shrouded in an undeniable genius, unfortunately though that genius is often overshadowed by the many, many controversies, “scandals” and violent behavior repeatedly shown towards media and even fans alike. The last known line-up fell apart by the end of 2023, and since then no interviews have been given. The current status of SHINING is at the time being, unknown.
