Pettersson & Fredriksson

Pettersson & Fredriksson trace their musical roots to the northern landscapes, where songs and stories have long carried the memory of human life. With tagelharpa, moraharpa, folk flutes, and Nordic lutes, they shape a sound where tradition and innovation meet in dark resonance – as profoundly Nordic as it is accessible by the wider world.

As a duo, Pettersson & Fredriksson have released three acclaimed albums – “Brand” (2002), “Virek” (2004), and “Sotali” (2010) – and are currently working on a new record. They have performed on major stages and festivals across Europe, and over the past year toured extensively, appearing in both concert halls and large rock venues as support for the German pagan folk band FAUN. They also appear on two tracks on FAUN’s latest album.

Daniel Fredriksson, known from the classic folk metal outfit OTYG, maintains a strong connection to Scandinavian folk and metal traditions, while multi-instrumentalist Daniel Pettersson brings deep knowledge of Nordic traditional music. In 2026, the duo’s collaboration with percussionist Magnus Lundmark will resume, adding fresh energy and rhythmic drive to their live performances, intensifying an already personal and powerful expression.
